| Remember puppies will be a lifetime commitment, they will need time for training, time for socializing and time for loving. What time you put into this puppy is what the rewards will be of owning a well brought up and socialized malamute. |
| It is important that you thoroughly research the characteristics of the Alaskan Malamute! Alaskan Malamute is not for everyone! Beautiful and cuddly as they are, the Alaskan Malamute is as head-strong as it is intelligent. Training and socialization is a MUST and should be commenced at a young age! Please refer to the page entitled "About the Alaskan Malamute" for additional information. And also please read up on training the Alaskan Malamute. You can find that on Training and more page.We also have information on Spay/Neuter on our training and more page. Male or Female both the male and the female are capable of becoming excellent companions and are equally easy to housebreak, do consider the fact that a male Malamute will mature to be considerably larger than his female litter mates. Please go to Training and more page to read more about this. No puppies are born out side here. We have a nursery for our moms and puppies. The nursery is secluded from the other dogs which provides the mother with privacy and also protects them from inclement weather. The nursery is cleaned daily . Our nursery has heat for the winter and also air- conditioned for the hot summer days. We want to make sure our mothers and puppies are comfortable . You can read about this on our kennel operation page. "Standard" Alaskan Malamutes vs. "Giant" Alaskan Malamutes: The standard weight for an Alaskan Malamute is 75-85 lbs. 23-25 inches at the shoulders."Giant" Alaskan Malamutes are generally considered to be in the 100+ lb. Range. Giant Alaskan malamutes are so much larger than standard, they can take up to three years to reach maturity. It is not uncommon for a pup to grow at a rate of 3-5 lbs a week during the first few months, and during this time, it is crucial to feed the correct food for the breed type, and not over-feed while the bones are developing. The only difference in the giant Alaskan malamute and standard Alaskan malamute is the size. BOTH ARE BIG LOVABLE TEDDY BEARS |
